YouthCode Capacity Strengthening and Resilience Support

Project Description
YouthCode is implementing a project in Nkhotakota. The project is entitled, “Youth-Code Strengthening and Resilience Support”. Tilitonse Foundation is supporting the project to the tune of £150,000.00 The project shall be implemented for a period of five years beginning 1st April 2025 to 31st March 2030.
The project focuses in the following areas: Institutional governance, Leadership and management, Financial management, People management, Resource mobilisation, Risk management, Programming, Results based management and Information management

Objectives
Project Goal:
Strengthening the capacity of the Youth-Code to become a more resilient, responsive and effectively delivering the priorities of the constituents by 2030.

Project Objectives

  • Increase the capacity of Youth-Code to deliver on its mandate more effectively by 2030.
  • Build a more resilient and sustainable organisation by 2030.
  • Citizenry in Nkhotakota progressively demand their human rights and good governance from duty bearers by 2030.

Activities
Being a capacity building project most of the projects are tailored to address the capacity gaps of the organisation as it relates to issues of;

  • strengthening the institutional corporate governance through corporate governance training to allow the board understand its roles and responsibilities.
  • Board meetings for the board.
  • Board reconstitution
  • Programming activities such as District Executive Committee meeting, strategic planning development, annual planning meeting, development of an automated MEAL system for the organisation.
  • Financial management training on QuickBooks Accounting Software.
  • Development of Resource Mobilisation Strategy
  • Training in Result Based Management
  • Development of Management Information System.
  • Leadership and management trainings
  • Human resource policy development.

Impact / Results (if available)

    • At least 90% of the board, management, and staff members their capacity increased as a result of the knowledge and skills acquired through the support
    • Youth Code become a more efficient and resilient organisation that can deliver the needs and priorities of its constituents
    • At least 70% of the citizenry progressively enjoy their human rights and improved accountability by duty bearers
